As the All Peoples Congress (APC) gears up for critical internal contests, Dr. Ibrahim Bangura has taken his grassroots outreach to the south eastern districts, sending a bold and unmistakable message to ward leaders: deliver for the movement, uphold integrity, and secure decisive victories for the party.
During his visit to Kenema District, Dr. Bangura congratulated winners of the recent ward elections while emphasizing that their role goes beyond celebration. “To the men who won at the ward level, don’t forget the Dr. Ibrahim Bangura Movement. I want to hand over this campaign in your hands. We want you to embrace us, see us as your own. Without you, we can’t succeed. Without you, it will be difficult for the APC to succeed,” he said.
Local APC youth leaders described his remarks as both empowering and challenging, noting that Dr. Bangura’s call for standing up against electoral malpractices resonated strongly. Residents stressed that his message underlined the importance of discipline, accountability, and fairness as foundations for the APC’s credibility. “He reminded us that winning is not enough. We must win fairly, decisively, and together,” said one supporter.
In Pujehun District, Dr. Bangura reinforced the stakes and symbolic significance of his visit. Referencing his father, M.L. Bangura, a founding APC figure, he told residents: “This is the movement that we all need to win, but we must not just win. We want a decisive victory from Pujehun. We want you all to deliver for us. When we go to the national delegates conference, the least we want is 95% from Pujehun.”
Supporters interpreted his words as a call to collective responsibility, inspiring loyalty and renewed commitment to the party’s goals. “He is not just asking for our votes. He is asking us to lead, protect the integrity of the process, and ensure the movement’s success,” said a Pujehun APC member.
Local leadership, including District Chairman Mohamed Amadu Sesay (Dr. Woo), praised Dr. Bangura for energizing the grassroots and reinforcing party structures. Analysts believe his approach, combining recognition, empowerment, and a firm stance against electoral malpractice, positions him as both a unifier and a forward thinking contender within the APC.
Through these engagements, Dr. Bangura has made it clear that the success of the APC depends on disciplined, inclusive, and ethical leadership at every level. By entrusting ward leaders with the responsibility of delivering decisive results, emphasizing fairness, and mobilizing communities, he is laying the foundation for what he calls a “history making journey” for the APC and Sierra Leone.
As the national delegates conference approaches, all eyes are on the south eastern districts, where Dr. Bangura’s message, “embrace the movement, deliver decisive victories, and stand against electoral malpractice,” has resonated deeply with both leaders and grassroots supporters, setting the stage for what could be the party’s most cohesive and disciplined showing yet.
