The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has formally announced the commencement of an investigation into the Sierra Leone Law School following a complaint filed by the Council of Legal Education, also known as the governing authority of the institution.
In a detailed press release issued from its headquarters at Integrity House, Tower Hill in Freetown, the Commission confirmed that the complaint was lodged against the Director of the Sierra Leone Law School, Dr. Abu Bakarr Bangura. The ACC stated that it has taken immediate steps to review the allegations and has officially opened an investigation into the matter.
According to the Commission, the investigation has already begun and is expected to be concluded within a period of one month, provided that all parties involved fully cooperate with investigators. The ACC emphasised that cooperation from all stakeholders will be crucial in ensuring that the inquiry is conducted efficiently, transparently, and without unnecessary delays.
The Commission noted that the decision to investigate reflects its unwavering commitment to enforcing accountability and addressing allegations of misconduct within public institutions in Sierra Leone.
