Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah at Pademba Road Magistrate Court No 1, has sentenced 32-year-old Ishmael Kamara, a bike rider of 3A George Brook, Dwazark, Freetown, for stealing one shovel, twenty-five bags of imported cement, and six lengths of Iron rods, all belonging to United Methodist Church (UMC) Dwazark, Freetown.
The shovel is valued at two hundred Leones (200), twenty-five bags of imported cement valued at two hundred and five Leones (205) each; a total of five thousand one hundred and twenty-five Leones (5,125), six lengths of Iron rods valued at two hundred and eighty Leones per length (280) totalling one thousand six hundred and eighty Leones (1,680), all of a grand total of seven thousand and five Leones (7,005). Ishmael Kamara, now convicted, around 3:00 am at the church store at George Brook, Dwazark, is said to have conspired with one Olu of the same address to loot items. Olu is yet to be arrested because he is said to be on the run.
Kamara pleaded guilty of the accusations before Magistrate Jah at Pademba Road Magistrate Court No 1.
Relying on section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916, he was sentenced to four years imprisonment.
