Two Suspects in Custody After Woman Allegedly Stabbed to Death by Daughter’s Boyfriend

The Sierra Leone Police are investigating the shocking death of Madam Joyce Williams, also named Victoria Joyce Williams, who was reportedly stabbed to death inside her room along Adelaide Street, in the central-western part of Freetown on Sunday, 2nd November 2026.

Two suspects have been arrested and are currently detained at the Central Police Division as detectives probe the circumstances of what neighbours describe as a deeply disturbing domestic tragedy.

According to preliminary accounts from police sources and community residents, Madam Joyce was attacked inside her private room at her residence on Adelaide Street. Sources say she sustained fatal stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

While the Sierra Leone Police have not yet issued an official detailed statement, early reports circulating on social media – first reported by Hawanatu Konneh Network – allege that the prime suspect is her daughter’s boyfriend. The second person in custody is believed to have been at the scene or connected to the incident.

Police sources confirm the two suspects are helping with investigations.

The body of the late Madam Joyce Williams has been taken to the Connaught Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem examination, which is standard procedure in all suspected homicide cases under Sierra Leone law.

Under Section 32 of the Sexual Offences Act as amended 2019 and the Offences Against the Person Act 1861, murder carries life imprisonment or the death penalty, although Sierra Leone abolished the death penalty in 2021 and replaced it with life imprisonment.

This is a developing story.
