India’s High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, H.E. Norbu Negi, has handed over travel documents to five Sierra Leonean government officials selected to participate in specialised training programmes in India under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme.
The handover followed an interaction between the High Commissioner and the officials, during which they were briefed on their respective training courses and the objectives of their participation.
The officials are expected to benefit from professional development opportunities designed to strengthen their technical knowledge, enhance institutional capacity and improve their skills in their respective fields.
The ITEC programme is a key component of India’s development partnership with other countries, providing opportunities for training, knowledge exchange and capacity building across various sectors.
India’s High Commission in Freetown said the initiative reflects New Delhi’s continued commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Sierra Leone through human resource development, technical cooperation and knowledge sharing.
The latest engagement underscores the growing importance of India–Sierra Leone cooperation in supporting professional development and strengthening public sector capacity.
